17th September 2006....

It's been a while since we posted some pics on this blog (technical difficulties!) so here's a selection of a tiny fraction of the sqaures we've received over the last few weeks. Don't forget if you can make it down to Jubilee Gardens on 14th October (next to the London Eye) we'll be showing the river off and hoping for willing seamstresses (and seamsters?) to join them together....

Hi! Can you please tell me more about the event in Jubilee Gardens? At what time and where (to be precise)? Is there a covered area if it happens to rain? I guess I'll spend a good part of the day at the Knitting and Stitching Show, but would love to see the River as well. Too bad that I only heard of this project, I would have loved to knit some of my blue yarns for a good cause.

We will be there from 11am until about 2pm. I hope you can make it....don't worry, this is just the start of the River's travels. The end date for the project is March next year when, to coincide with World Water Day we plan to create a huge spectacle. Most of the squares haven't been sewn together yet, so there's stil plenty of time to take part.
