London based yarn shop and knitting group, I Knit, have joined forces with international charity WaterAid to create an alternative to a traditional petition - a spectacular river of knitted blue squares! Our Knitted River will raise awareness and will travel to all future WaterAid campaigning events to carry their message of safe, clean water for all - a basic right. Scroll down for regular updates, including our random square of the week picture!

hi, will you be in ally pally this year? if so, I'd like to bring some blue sq..
Hiya. Sad to say we won't be in Ally Pally. I Knit started small in January this year and we had no idea we'd be where we are right now, so didn't book a space! We will be meeting on Saturday 14th October though, in Jubilee Gardens by the London Eye, to celebrate the start of National knitting Week. We will have the river (so far) on show and we are inviting anyone and everyone to come and join us to add to the river, knit more squares, sew some of the thousands we already have together, and pose for publicity photos. I hope you can make it if you're in London for the weekend. We'll be there form 11am...
